Karen Hunter Says the Fatigue Is Starting to Show in the MAGA Base
Karen Hunter’s latest video looks at a question that is getting harder to duck in American politics: Are Trump supporters starting to wear down?
“I’m also seeing cracks and fissures happen in the world,” she says, pointing to moments where loyalty to Trump seems less solid than it once was.
Hunter breaks down how shows like South Park have moved from light satire to outright provocation. Describing a recent episode as “a crazy episode,” and questioning how far mainstream entertainment is willing to go and who is actually paying attention.
“I don’t think MAGA are watching it. But I think young people are watching,” she says, indicating a widening gap between Trump’s base and younger audiences. That gap shows up in unexpected places too, including online Spades games, where she recalls people pushing “Trump 2028” in spaces where it feels completely out of place. “Make it make sense,” she says.
Hunter then points to four House Republicans who signed onto a discharge petition to force a vote on extending Affordable Care Act subsidies.
“The majority of people who need Obamacare are in Republican districts and states,” she explains, arguing that rising costs and shrinking benefits are forcing people to rethink their choices.
