Black Players for Change, Vans Sneaker Collab Benefits Important Mission in Soccer
Today, Black Players for Change (BPC) and Vans announced a partnership to launch the Vans x BPC Collaboration.
Per the release, the sneaker collab, which features Vans’ classic Era silhouette in two limited edition colorways (black with white trim and sole or white with black trim and sole), “celebrates both the heritage of the Era design and the idea of balance and connection,” a testament to what BPC is trying to accomplish in soccer, a sport that has had its challenges with providing access and equality.
“We are transforming soccer by advocating for EQUALITY and putting an end to racism,” writes BPC on its website, referring to issues that continue to plague “the Beautiful Game.”
The sneaker collab brings together the legacy of the Vans brand and the uniting efforts of BPC, and “symbolizes a shared commitment to authenticity, creativity, and community engagement.”
Proceeds from the collection will directly benefit BPC programs that expand access and opportunity within soccer.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Vans on this collection, which reflects our shared focus on community, sport, and creative expression,” said Allen Hopkins Jr., Executive Director of Black Players for Change.
Per the release, an exclusive 48-hour pre-sale opens for BPC partners, friends, and family on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. ET and the BPC x Vans collection will be available to all for pre-order beginning Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. ET.
